What the DREAM Job Fair Is, and Who's Behind It
DREAM stands for Disability, Rehabilitation, Employment, Awareness, Month, a nod to October's status as National Disability Employment Awareness Month. A committee of local partners runs it, led by Goodwill of Southern Arizona alongside Beacon Group and the state's Division of Developmental Disabilities. The fair is also listed on Pima County's Pima Works recruitment calendar, and the county flyer notes its programs are administered by the ARIZONA@WORK Pima County One-Stop.
Every employer at a table signed up to meet candidates with disabilities, so nobody is guessing whether a recruiter wants the conversation. Last October's fair drew about 30 employers, according to KOLD's coverage of the 2025 event, and organizers say it typically brings in more than 300 job seekers. The 2026 employer list has not been published yet, and we'll update this page when it is.
⚠️ Read This Before You Go: Registration and the Start Time
This is not a walk-in-and-wander fair. The DREAM committee asks every job seeker to register ahead, and registration is also where you request accommodations. Pima County's flyer specifically offers a quiet hour for anyone who needs a calmer room, and you have to ask for it when you sign up.
The two official sources don't agree on the start time. The county's flyer lists 10:00 AM to noon. The DREAM Job Fair website lists 9:00 AM to noon. Plan to be there by 10 at the latest, and if you need the quiet hour or want to confirm the earlier start, call the committee at (520) 306-0648 before the day.
The fair is built for people with disabilities. If that's not you, the Fall 2026 Tucson job fairs guide covers the county's open-to-everyone events, including the Pima County Community Job Fair at the same Kino Event Center on Tuesday, October 6. Same building, different event, different crowd.
đź“‹ How to Show Up Ready
- Register early. It gets you on the list and locks in any accommodation you ask for.
- Bring printed resumes. Eight to ten copies covers a room of this size.
- Know what you want. Have a 30-second pitch on the work, hours and part of town that fit you.
- Decide on disclosure ahead of time. You never have to share a diagnosis. You can simply describe the accommodation that helps you do the job well.
- Bring a support person if it helps. The organizers welcome family members, caregivers and guardians.
In past years the committee has run a DREAM Workshop before each fair, with mock interviews and resume help at the same venue. A fall 2026 workshop date has not been posted yet. Watch the DREAM Workshop page for it.
