TUCSON, AZ — The Old Pueblo's hiring calendar wakes up the same week the mornings finally drop below 80. Between mid-September and mid-November, thirteen in-person hiring events are on the fall calendar across Tucson, and they are spread wide enough that almost everyone has one within a short drive: Kino Event Center off Ajo Way, the Goodwill career center on East Fort Lowell, a DES office on South Alvernon, El Pueblo on West Irvington, Tucson Mall on North Oracle and the Child-Parent Centers headquarters on East 22nd Street.

Thirteen in-person events between September 14 and November 11; ten have already taken place. Here is who is recruiting, where to show up, and which of the remaining events have eligibility rules.

Pima Care at Home Direct Care Hiring Event — Monday, September 14

9:00 AM – 12:00 PM | DES East Tucson Office, 1455 S Alvernon Way

Pima Care at Home is recruiting direct care workers, and this is the kind of opening that does not ask for a resume full of prior titles. The company's recent ARIZONA@WORK postings for the same role advertised paid training with no experience required, flexible hours and assignments spread across the metro. The work is personal care, light housekeeping, meal help, shopping and companion visits in clients' homes, so a reliable vehicle matters more than a certificate. Note the venue: this employer rotates its hiring events between the county's Fort Lowell office and the East Tucson DES office, so confirm the Alvernon address before you drive over.

Banner Health is one of the largest employers in Southern Arizona, and a dedicated afternoon at Kino is the fastest way into a hiring conversation without waiting on an online queue. The county lists this one as health care professional positions, which in practice usually spans nursing, allied health, imaging, lab and patient support. Bring licenses and certifications, not just copies of them, and be ready to name the campus you want. If you have been circling Tucson's health care employers for months, this is the short line.

Youth One-Stop Hiring Event — Wednesday, September 16

3:00 – 5:00 p.m. | El Pueblo Activity Center, 101 W Irvington Road, Building #9

The Pima County Youth One-Stop is bringing more than 20 employers together for job seekers ages 16 to 24, which makes this the single best two hours on the fall calendar for a South Tucson high schooler or a recent grad who has never done a formal interview. The 3 p.m. start is deliberate, landing after the last bell at most TUSD and Sunnyside campuses. Bring a work permit if you are under 18 and a list of the hours you can actually work, because scheduling is what kills most first jobs.

MedStar Medical Transport Hiring Event — Thursday, September 17

10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. | Goodwill Career Center, 3725 E Fort Lowell Road

This event has passed.

MedStar is hiring non-emergency medical transport drivers, and it is running a five-hour window on Fort Lowell so you can come before or after a shift somewhere else. This is a solid landing spot for anyone with a clean driving record who wants steady daytime hours instead of gig dispatch roulette. Expect questions about your record, your comfort with wheelchair securement and lift equipment, and your willingness to cover routes out toward the Foothills and the southwest side. The same employer ran a Valencia Road event the week before, so the roster is real and the need is ongoing.

Veteran Resource Fair — Wednesday, September 23

1:00 – 4:00 p.m. | Abrams Public Health Center, 3950 S Country Club Road

Call this one what it is: a resource fair with an employment table, not a job fair with a resource table. Pima County lists health care, VA benefits, housing and employment help under one roof, which makes it the right stop if your job search is tangled up with a benefits question or a housing problem you need solved first. Davis-Monthan separations and Guard members finishing a contract will get more out of three hours here than out of three weeks of applying cold.

Pima County Community Job Fair — Tuesday, October 6

This is the big one. The county's community job fair runs several times a year at Kino, and the October edition covers health care, aviation, construction, food, manufacturing, education, transportation, call centers, government and warehouses. The county has not published an October employer roster yet; for scale, the April edition of the same fair advertised up to 50 employers on its flyer. Come dressed for an interview and bring printed resumes, because the aviation and manufacturing tables in particular have a habit of pulling people aside on the spot. Alorica Hiring Event — Thursday, October 8

10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. | Goodwill Career Center, 3725 E Fort Lowell Road

Two days after Kino, Alorica brings its recruiters to the Goodwill center in midtown to hire customer support staff for its call center on South Research Loop. Every role is onsite, so this is not a work-from-home headset job. The rules are specific: you must be 18 or older, live within 25 miles of the Research Loop site, have a working smartphone and reliable transportation, and show at least six months of work in the past year, and there is a background check. Bring your job history or resume, your diploma or GED documentation, two forms of ID and references. No headcount or starting wage has been published. → See details

AccentCare Caregiver Recruiting Event — Monday, October 12

10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. | Pima County One-Stop Kino Service Center, 2797 E Ajo Way

AccentCare, a national home care and home health company, is recruiting caregivers at the county's Kino job center, on the same stretch of Ajo Way as Kino Event Center. The county lists caregiver positions and nothing else, and no headcount or pay rate has been published. In-home care means driving between clients, so bring your driver's license and proof of insurance, and ask about mileage, training for new hires and whether shifts run weekdays, weekends or overnights. → See details

Brighter View Foundation Hiring Event — Tuesday, October 13

Brighter View Foundation, a Glendale-based nonprofit that works with people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities, is hiring for four roles on Fort Lowell: direct support professional, direct care worker, job coach and vocational rehabilitation employment specialist. That last one suits people with case management or workforce experience. The organization lists programs in Maricopa, Pinal and Yuma counties, so ask the recruiter where Tucson-area hires would actually work before you commit. Macy's Holiday Hiring Day — Thursday, October 22

Macy's runs a nationwide in-store hiring day for seasonal part-time store jobs, and in Tucson that means one address: the store at Tucson Mall, at Oracle and Wetmore, now the only Macy's in the Tucson area. Macy's has not published a Tucson headcount or a single start time, and Tucson is not on the company's list of top hiring markets, so expect a store-level push rather than a mass hire. DREAM Job Fair — Tuesday, October 27

Southern Arizona's largest job fair for people with disabilities comes back to Kino three weeks after the county fair. Every employer at a table signed up specifically to meet job seekers with disabilities, and family members, caregivers or guardians are welcome to come along. It is free, but registration is required, and registration is also where you ask for accommodations such as the quiet hour. The organizer lists a 9 a.m. start while the county's flyer says 10, so plan to arrive by 10 at the latest or call the committee at (520) 306-0648 to confirm. → See details

Pima County Career Fair — Thursday, November 5

Nine days after DREAM, the county itself takes over Kino for its fall career fair. Pima County departments and community partners will be on hand to talk about public-sector careers, the steady, benefits-backed kind of work a lot of Tucsonans are hunting for. The county has not published which departments or outside employers will have tables, or how many openings they are bringing, so treat it as a chance to meet the people who hire rather than a guaranteed interview. Child-Parent Centers Head Start Job Fair — Wednesday, November 11

1:00 – 5:30 p.m. | Child-Parent Centers, 602 E. 22nd St.

Child-Parent Centers, the Head Start program that serves Southern Arizona families, is hiring at its headquarters near South Tucson for preschool lead teachers, preschool teachers, family educators, and driver and custodian roles. Not every opening needs a classroom background. Bring your driver's license, a resume and proof of education. No pay rates have been published, so ask at the table, and ask whether the job runs full year or follows the school calendar.   • The October 27 DREAM Job Fair is built for job seekers with disabilities, along with the family members or caregivers who help them. Register ahead; it is not a walk-in fair. If that is not you, the November 5 Pima County Career Fair at the same venue and the November 11 Child-Parent Centers job fair carry no published eligibility limits.

  • No experience, need income soon: Macy's October 22 hiring day has passed; its final national hiring day is November 19. Driver and custodian roles at the November 11 Child-Parent Centers fair do not call for a classroom background.

  • Early childhood and family support: November 11 at Child-Parent Centers on East 22nd Street. Bring proof of education.

📋 What to Bring to Any of Them

  • Ten printed resumes.
  • Photo ID, and your Social Security number written down somewhere you can read it.
  • Licenses and certifications in original form, not phone photos.
  • Your real availability, in writing, including days you cannot work.

  • Water. Kino Event Center is a long walk from the far end of the lot and October in Tucson is still summer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do any of these Tucson job fairs cost money?

They should not. Every event on this list is run or listed by Pima County's workforce system, its partners or the hiring employer itself, and none charges job seekers. If something calls itself a Tucson job fair and wants a fee for entry or for a resume review, walk away.

Do I need to register in advance?

Most county events accept walk-ins, but the October 27 DREAM Job Fair requires registration through its organizer. For the others, check the county's Pima Works events list or the ARIZONA@WORK calendar the day before, and call 520-724-7622 if a listing is unclear.

What should I wear to a job fair at Kino Event Center?

Interview clothes. The county's own flyer for its community job fair says to come dressed for success, and the aviation, health care and government tables treat the conversation as a first-round screen. Closed-toe shoes if you are chasing warehouse or construction work.

I am 17. Which of these can I attend?

The September 16 event at El Pueblo Activity Center, built for ages 16 to 24, has already taken place. Check the county's Pima Works calendar for the next youth hiring event, and bring a work permit when you go.

What is still on the calendar?

The DREAM Job Fair for job seekers with disabilities is Tuesday, October 27, at Kino Event Center. Pima County's own career fair follows at the same venue on Thursday, November 5, and Child-Parent Centers holds a Head Start job fair at its East 22nd Street headquarters on Wednesday, November 11. Are there jobs in Tucson that do not require experience?

Yes. Two of the September events here were aimed squarely at them: direct care and medical transport both train from scratch. So does a good chunk of Tucson's entry-level hiring in any given month.
