Macy's, Inc. laid out its plans in a September holiday hiring announcement. The company is filling seasonal part-time jobs across its Macy's, Bloomingdale's and Bluemercury stores and holding three in-person hiring days at all of its stores: September 24, October 22 and November 19.

Be clear-eyed about the local picture. Macy's named 10 top hiring markets for its stores, and Phoenix made the list. Tucson did not. The company has not released a headcount for Tucson, a national number, or a single start time for every store, and we won't guess at any of them. What is confirmed is that the hiring day runs at every Macy's store, and Tucson Mall is one.

🗺️ Why Tucson Mall Is the Only Stop

Macy's used to anchor two Tucson malls. The Park Place store on East Broadway has since closed, which leaves Tucson Mall, at Oracle and Wetmore, as the only Macy's in Arizona outside metro Phoenix. The next-closest store is in Chandler, close to 90 miles up the I-10.

That makes the Oracle Road store the stop for job seekers from all over Pima County, whether you are coming down Oracle from Oro Valley, across Wetmore from the I-10, or up from the south side.

If you make the trip, look around while you are there. The new Barnes & Noble on Oracle Road opened recently just down the street in the old Joann space.
